Blog Review: Writing Forward – Writing For Writers
by Rebecca Laffar-Smith
I haven’t had the chance to read a book this week so I thought I’d deviate and introduce a Blog Review to the mix. There are thousands of fantastic blogs on the web. I’ve discovered a number of great blogs thanks to my Blogrush Widget and I’m looking forward to sharing some of the best with you.
This week I’d like to shine the light on Writing Forward: Writing For Writers by Melissa A. Donovan. Melissa, whose love of writing was apparent from her formative years, majored in English and Creative Writing in college and has worked with words all her life. In August she turned to freelance writing with the launch of her writing services website.
Writing Forward: Writing For Writers is focused on introducing writers to various aspects of the writing life. With categories such as, Freelance Writing, Grammar, Motivate & Inspire, Writers & the Web, and Writing Tips & Tricks, there is a wealth of information for eager writers to absorb and learn from.

Alas, still brain fried but I’m pushing through. Melissa’s blog is wonderful with lots to read. I’ve got so many blogs in my reader I don’t know if I’ll ever catch up with them all but at least there are plenty of resources for future blog reviews.
Thanks for stopping by!
Would you believe it, I discovered that blog yesterday too – and I thought it was great! Nice review, Rebecca.
Thanks Sharon! It really is a terrific blog.
And I’m blushing a little because you found me here. *chuckles* I’m tinkering about with this new blog and I didn’t realise people might already be stumbling upon it. Still, I’m glad because it means your comments are here instead of on blogspot.
Rebecca,
I’m so flattered and encouraged by the fact that you’ve enjoyed my web site. It is my hope to build a community of writers, and provide a place where writers can find information and resources that will help them to hone their craft. I have big plans to expand the site in the coming months so I hope you will check in to see how things develop.
It is such honor to be featured on Writer’s Round About. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Sincerely,
-Melissa Donovan
Writing for Writers
Aww, Melissa, it was my pleasure to highlight your blog this week. You’ve done a wonderful job and despite it’s relative youth you’ve got a great wealth of content put together. It’s the kind of blog I simply love to read, on topic, with posts that have enough meat to sink my teeth into and truly learn from. Thanks for all the time you put into it!
It sounds like we have very similar goals. I want to create a community of writing friends who can get together through life because we know that we’re not alone. Share the craft, and life because of our careers. Writers tend to lead a distinctly individual kind of life full of emotional upheavels and chaos blended with the joys of language and creativity. It’s great to be able to share such experiences with other writers and learning the ‘how-to’ and ‘why-to’ of writing as part of the parcel is bonus.
Thank YOU for the link love in your blogroll!
