I really love having an opportunity to share this fantastic interview with Christina Katz. I’ve been a fan of Christina’s for a long time and was fortunate enough to meet her at the Writer’s Digest Writer’s Conference in L.A. last year. She really is as lovely in person as she sounds in her books.
While I was at the conference, I picked up an extra copy of her book, Writer Mama: How to Raise a Writing Career Alongside Your Kids, and I’d love to give it away to a lucky Writer’s Round-About reader!
How do you win? It’s easy, just leave a comment here and you go into the draw. It really is as simple as that. Of course, if you tweet the contest you’ll get a second entry into the draw and if you add a comment to Christina’s interview you’ll earn a third. Entries close May 31st, 2009 so act now!

How exciting, Rebecca! Eeek! I love contests–and I love books even more!
I’d love to win a copy of Writer Mama. I’ve heard that Christina’s book is an excellent writing resource for writers who are Moms and also for those who aren’t. I’d love to give it a read myself!
Thanks for the contest! (I tweeted the contest and then I shared it on Facebook just for fun.)
*grins* Writer Mama is an excellent book and it’s less about fitting it around being a Mom and more about making your writing business a success no matter what your lifestyle is like. We all have those aspects of our lives that keep us busy and Christina’s first book for writers is a fantastic guide through that crazy maze.
I caught your tweet and your other comment. That’s 3 for 3. *grins* Good luck, Michele!
I have heard great things about the book & I enjoy Christina’s site & newsletter. Glad to have found yours now, too!
Sounds like a fabulous book! Maybe it would be the push I need to figure out the balance between work, kids and writing. There’s a thought!
Hey, maybe it’ll work for writer dads as well.
How did I miss this contest?? Hook me up! I so need this, my two little ones drive me bonkers when I try to write.

It definitely WILL work for Dads too, Bill.
What Christina shares in this book works for everyone with a busy lifestyle, especially those with kids.
Good luck everyone! Keep those entries coming and don’t forget you can tweet the contest or comment on Christina’s interview to gain extra entries!
Hey
I am not a mother (I am male) not a father either, however my best friends have just had a beautiful baby daughter, and they also have a very busy work life, so I would love to be able to give them something that will help.
Off to Twitter to retweet!
I wanna be a success! Pick me, pick me, pick me! … a daughter, a mom, a grandmother – one who is experiencing yet another childhood.
You’re in the draw, Mary! Good luck!
I wish I had more copies to give away. lol I have other books I deliberately got extra copies of so I’ll be able to give away some other books in the not too distant future.
Good Luck to everyone and don’t forget, you’ve still got time to get those extra entries or to tell your friends about the contest. Don’t forget to twitter it for an extra entry (let me know if you do or use @laffarsmith in your tweet so I can find it) and comment on the interview Christina gave us.
I’m looking forward to finding our winner, hope you are too!
Hey everyone, I’ve not forgotten the contest, just been knocked about by a serious case of the flu. Hopefully have enough energy to draw a winner and write a blog post this afternoon/evening but if not, just bare with me and I’ll have our winner as soon as physically able.
Yay! I would love to win this book:)
Thanks for the great interview and the contest.
Thanks for sharing this – I need all the inspiration I can get!
