One of the things I find myself having to do to maintain my sanity is to take time NOT working. Sometimes, I might feel charged and motivated to get things done, but if I max-out my 'optimum' time with work I'll swiftly burn out. I've found that even when I'm feeling well and could be working, I have to take time out to relax, enjoy the sunshine, take a walk, read, etc. I must choose to give my mind and body a break.

It can be difficult, especially because I can go several days, even over a week, when I'm not 'well' enough to work (because of my Bipolar). When one week in every four has me mostly bed-bound, it can be tempting to try and force so much more into those other three weeks. However, I've found doing so, just makes it that much harder to be productive and successful. Instead, choosing to be strict with how much work I'll do, and ensuring I spend plenty of time each day not working, keeps me healthier and much more able to achieve over the long term.
