Hi, Rebecca!

And... would you believe that I was SO in awe of your fantabulous reviews, I never dared dream I'd be able to write reviews like you. When I first "met" you along the cyber highway and started reading your reviews, I thought you were so thorough and informative, yet lighthearted and easy to read. I was intimidated by those long, thorough reviews! LOL And look how far I've come - you taught me well, eh? ;-)

Oh yes, honesty is something I'm addressing in the follow-up post. One of the best ways to get the attention of sponsors is honesty. It shines through and they know readers love it.

Thanks for all your tips, Rebecca! I love 'em. :-D

I'm sure I'll be reviewing books (or something) in the future here at WRA - ya never know what the future holds!

*smiles*
Michele

I started reviewing books about writing for Writer's Round-About and was amazed when author's started volunteering to send me copies of their books for FREE! Many traditional publishers offer "reviewer copies", a selection of books they provide without charge specifically for the publicity of a review.

One of the most important tips I want to suggest is to be honest and balanced in your review. Yes, rave away if you absolutely love a product but don't be afraid to mention its faults too. If you can't find anything nice, or need to admit a significant fault offer your opinion on what could be done to improve things.

Remember, your review is for your readers. You're writing to help others decide if this product is for them.

Finally, if you're interested in writing reviews that suit a writing theme <a href="http://www.writersroundabout.com/2009/06/write-at-wra-our-collaborative-blogging-project.html" / rel="nofollow">consider joining us here at Writer's Round-About as a collaborative blogger</a>. I'd love to post more reviews and Writer's Round-About already has a platform for your name. If you write quality reviews you'll invite quality products to ask you for reviews too.
