Name a celebrity or personality who you would like to have dinner with and what would you like to talk to them about?
It’s the kind of question we’ve asked before. You set your table for a dinner party of your most regale guests. Who would you invite?
For me, it’s a very tough question. My mind flitters through various names and discards them as swiftly as they come by. Honestly, if I could sit to share a meal and conversation with anyone it would be my brother. He is not a celebrity, or known personality. He’s just a man, more a boy really, who held a special place in my life and who I miss dearly.
But, while it would be wonderful to share that time with my brother. Who else could I take a meal with, learn from, and discover a new part of myself with? Would you sit down with Steven King? William Shakespeare? W.B. Yeats?
What do you think they would want to tell you?

Where in the real world is your dream vacation spot, why, and have you ever consider writing this place in fiction or non-fiction?
Have you ever wished you could travel to some exotic location? It’s not something most of us can just do on a whim. Writer’s in particular are often sure the coin to travel any great distance. Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the universe?
I’ve always loved my internal image of Ireland. It’s a rich setting that could offer a great base for stories I may write in future. Do you think you can write about a setting without having truly been there?
These locations in our minds have a unique glimmer to them that places we’ve truly experience lose. They have a firmament in fact but can often lose the ethereal air and mystery. Have you ever travelled somewhere and found your passion for the place faded?
What if you could travel beyond this world? Science Fiction writers often create realities deep in space. Is the freedom to change aspects of our known environment something that appeals to you? What would you feel like if you suddenly found yourself in one of these strange worlds?
If I were standing on the cliffs of Ireland, looking out over the choppy sea, crashing against the rocks I’d probably shiver with the chill thought of blood that had washed those cliffs, the life that filled the soil. Ireland is steeped in a history I can barely begin to grasp. There are stories there, waiting to be told.
Can you hear them?

If you could be one character from a comic book, fiction series, or anime, who would you be, and why?
The novel I’m currently writing figures a strong female lead, Tori. She’s gritty, determined, and independant. That’s one of the reasons it’s so hard for her to learn to accept an inner darkness within her, and the help of her guardian angel.
When I watch the television series, Dark Angel, I feel a real tug to the main character, Max (Jessica Alba). Like Tori, she’s gritty, determined, and independant. She’s the kind of woman who can take care of herself and has learnt that it’s a dog-eat-dog world out there.
I’d love to have the kind of empowering confidence that Max (and Tori) have. They’ve got a core belief in themselves and their right to be the person they are. There are people in their lives they care about but it is on terms that maintain a freedom.
If you could be a character you’ve read about, or written about, who would you be and why? Do you find yourself writing characters you wish you were, or who echo yourself in some way?
What do you read or watch when you want to connect with a character? Have you ever considered which actor you would cast in the role of your protagonist were it made into a movie?
