Rebecca,

Great analogy! I have to admit that it isn't one I would have thought of myself -- probably because I don't have a dog. (I have two cats, instead.) The canine analogy certainly does illustrate your points nicely. It's quite an imaginative way of presenting your ideas on writing!

Good work!

Haven't even checked Google Reader lately, myself -- and I'm afraid to! :-/

Thanks for your kind words! I'm only sorry I didn't make it over here sooner!

I'd definitely change sex and be a man as they seem to have a better deal all round. James Bond has a lot of fun, and more than the cat's nine lives.

I've found developing friendships with other writers who are walking the path beside or before me is a fantastic boost for every aspect of this writer's life. We find mentors in a wide variety of places and every contact we make can have a significant impact on the direction of our lives.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Justin!

*chuckles* I can see you as Albus Dumbledore, Jim! Wise, witty, and perhaps just a little bit crafty. ;-)

I wonder what you life might be like if you had the magic skill of Dumbledore. *ponders* I bet Dumbledore would have Plurked.

@ Hope: Thanks so much! And you're so right! Writing Bursts are fun, productive and awesome. *grins*

@ Rhonda: Thanks for your comment. Implementation is definitely the key. One can have great thoughts but thoughts are worthless without action.

@ Sharon: It is wonderful to share the plurk experience with you, Sharon. I think we gain so much inspiration and creativity from the people around us. We've got to be plugged into these kind of power sources or we'll run dry.

@ The Fearless Blog: I really appreciate your comment! I think we need more teachers like you. Thanks for your visit!

@ Jean: I hope to see you around Plurk!

@ Jeanne: I just love to see you here, Jeanne. I can completely related to life getting in the way of reading our favorite blogs. My google reader seems to be piling up with my good intentions. I feel honored that you made time to visit today.

Hi, Rebecca!

Don't know much about Plurk, but I do agree that, until we take that first step forward, we'll never build momentum in our writing or anything else! Plurk sounds like one helpful way for a writer to do that. Great advice!

Hope you've been well! Sorry I haven't been by in absolute ages! I've been so busy lately that making regular visits to my favorite blogs has, for the most part, fallen by the wayside!

Take care!

Thanks for the post. You really can't say enough about looking to those who have gone before you for guidance. There are so many pitfalls with writing that it has become imperative that you leverage every resource that you can just to make it.

Keep writing!
